Food description:
This is the kind of recipe that feels rustic, generous, and deeply satisfying. The sausage brings savory richness while the cider helps caramelize the vegetables, apples, and onions into something that tastes both cozy and slightly refined.
It is especially well suited to the Old World Nectar brand because it feels grounded in orchard flavors without becoming dessert-like. Everything roasts together on one pan, making it practical as well as visually appealing, with golden vegetables and glossy roasted apples that look beautiful on the plate.
Ingredients:
1 pound smoked or savory sausages
3 carrots, peeled and cut
2 parsnips, peeled and cut
1 red onion, sliced into wedges
2 apples, cut into wedges
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup Old World Apple Nectar
1/4 cup apple cider
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon whole grain mustard
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Place sausages, carrots, parsnips, onion, and apples on a sheet pan. Drizzle with olive oil and apple cider, then season with salt, pepper, thyme, and mustard. Toss well.
Roast for 30 to 40 minutes, turning once halfway through, until vegetables are tender and caramelized and sausages are browned. Serve hot with pan juices spooned over the top.
Garnish:
Fresh thyme leaves
